Project: Direct 2nd Place - Gone in a Flash
This is the 2nd place winner of the YouTube Project: Direct.
To be honest, I really didn't liked this one much. I must agree that the way it has been shot is great. Also, the way they've linked the story is nice too.
But i just don't see much substance in the story and i guess that is what makes this film the runner up. Everything apart from this is done beautifully...

Project: Direct Winner - Laços (Ties)
The winner of Project: Direct.
A very beautiful video which has been directed excellently.
Just see how the 3 elements of the Project: Direct's requirement have been implemented in the video.
Another thing that needs to be noticed is that even though the camera used is just a normal one. This is not what matters. The amount of effort done on the details covers up more than enough. Hardwork over Easy Money. Always. Period!

Around 9 months ago, an international film competition of selected countries was held by Youtube in collaboration with hp and fox searchlight.
This competition called out directors who had 'something to say' to submit their original videos.
The criteria set for the videos was that:
1) The main character of the video had to deal with a situation above his or her maturity level.
2) The following exact dialogue should be used in the film; "I demand an explanation for these shenanigans! What do you have to say?"
3) A photograph should be shown being passed from one character to another.

Many films were submitted and from them, 20 were shortlisted by the expert panel of youtube.
The winners where then selected by the youtube community who voted for their favorites.
The result was as follow:
1st place: Lacos (Ties)
2nd place: Gone in a Flash
3rd place: My Name Is Lisa
